Get Smart. Get Active. Trip Summary

Tyler aims to leave at the end of March 2008, hoping to finish the tour in less than four months. This will allow him to cover most of the country while middle and high schools are still in session.

With Victoria, BC, serving as a starting point, Tyler will ride north to Nanaimo and board the ferry to West Vancouver. From West Vancouver, Tyler will again travel north, stopping in his hometown of Whistler before leaving for Calgary via Kamloops and Banff.

When leaving Calgary, Tyler will ride along the southern edge of Alberta and Saskatchewan, passing through Medicine Hat, Moose Jaw, and Regina. While traveling through Saskatchewan and Manitoba, Tyler will stop in Brandon and Winnipeg. Once in Ontario, the tour will follow Highway 17 into Thunder Bay. Tyler will then ride along the north shore of Lake Superior to Ottawa. From Ottawa, Tyler will ride to Montreal, up the east coast of the St. Lawrence river, and into the Maritimes.

Tyler will ride in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, Newfoundland, passing through Fredericton, Charlottetown, and Halifax, before arriving in St. John’s for a ceremonial dipping of his tire in the Atlantic Ocean.

The trip will cover eight thousand kilometers, averaging approximately one hundred kilometers per day. Considering the time for travel, presentations, and rest days, the trip will take four months to complete.
